We’re approaching the Winter Solstice on SUNDAY, December 21st and TODAY December 19th is the new moon. Astrologers remind us that this is actually the moment for intention-setting… not January 1st.
The Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year. It’s the point where darkness peaks—and then, slowly, the light begins to return. Use this time to infuse the energy of the solstice into your intentions for 2026.
Host Jeanette Calvon-Mira invites listeners to use the new moon and winter solstice as a powerful moment for setting intentions, shifting focus from hustle to reflection. She encourages women to ask who they want to be in 2026, release shame, and plant seeds for new growth instead of chasing deadlines.
Jeanette shares examples of intentions, reassures listeners "you are not behind," and offers a free downloadable Winter Solstice & New Moon Intention Guide on chingonasinlife.com to help with journaling and reflection.

In this episode I explore the idea of self-compassion, and how accepting our past lets us rewrite our story. Inspired by my Tía Rosa, I honor her dying words which were, "I have no regrets." I talk about letting go of regret, recognizing survival behaviors, and confronting shame.
I also talks about the harm of comparison—especially on social media—and I want to remind listeners that they alone know their story and can choose the next scene.
Next week I will be sharing my Tia Rosa's story and invite others to courageously share theirs. To be on my show please DM me @chingonas.in.life or email at chingonasinlife@gmail.com.
Thank you for listening!

In honor of the OG Chingona, Rosa Chavez, we launch this podcast on her birthday to honor Latina women everywhere. By sharing our stories and keeping it REAL, we begin to change judgment into compassion and rise powerfully as a community. Today I hang with my Chingona cousin Letty and talk about her mom, my Tia Rosa, who passed away too soon. Tia Rosa was bold, independent, and hard working. She inspired us to take action and claim our voices.
